Two Teens With Special Needs Are Headed to Prom After Sweet ‘Promposal’
A Texas high school choir pitched in to create a special promposal for two longtime friends.
Benn Ullman, who has cerebral palsy, and Kendall Krause, who has Aicardi syndrome, have been best friends for 14 years and love spending time together.
“The whole school knows Ben and Kendall are together. Whenever they’re around each other they are always trying to hug and he tries to kiss her hand, so it is not a secret at all,” said Kristen McKerall, a teacher at Midway High School.
Ben wanted to find a special way to ask Kendall to the big dance, so his mom got the help of his choir teacher and fellow students. In a heartwarming video, the choir sings, “Will you go to prom with me?”
Kendall screamed with excitement when she saw the display. But the serenade was no shocker.
“We always knew that we would ask Kendall to the prom,” Ben’s mom, Ashley Ballew, told InsideEdition.com. “He knew he would go with her since they met when they were 3.”
However, Kendall’s family had no idea how Ben would ask.
“My husband and I had no idea about the promposal,” Kendall’s mom, Kirsten Krause, said. “This was a complete surprise.”
