As a parent of a Special Needs child often times even the simplest of tasks seem to be so challenging. Things like feeding, or bathing or dressing your son or daughter can be so frustrating that we’re always to be looking for ways to make those various tasks less tedious. So, a few years ago our family came across the Billy Footwear company that makes these shoes with all the cool styles and colours that you would see in all the major name brands but guess what!!…
They came with a cool zipper on the side making it extremely easy to just slide our daughters’ foot in a zip her up. They’re extremely durable, to the point where we still have her first pair and again their styles are so awesome which is why we just recently purchased another one. Another great thing about these shoes, for those of you that have kids who wear AFO braces they just slide right into these shoes with a quick zip to get you going on your way.
What’s also interesting is the story behind the design. The company’s website talks a bit about how the co-founder experienced a three-story fall which resulted in him being paralyzed from the chest down which eventually inspired the design of these shoes.
Now these shoes are made for everyone and their website calls it a “universal design” which is great but we just love them because they made our lives so much easier.
These shoes are definitely worth checking out!
